Dananeer Mobeen
Five years ago Dananeer Mobeen was a 19-year-old student from Peshawar with a four-second video and a joke about the way some people say "party". Today she's the lead of Hurmat, one of the most talked-about dramas on Hum TV, and the star of her first film. Few people have turned a meme into a career this convincingly.
She's done it with remarkably few roles: five dramas and one film, almost all of them made by Momina Duraid's MD Productions for Hum TV. What has kept her in demand isn't the internet fame. It's that she can play girls who are young, sheltered and quietly stubborn without making them either sweet or tragic.
Dananeer Mobeen's age and early life
Dananeer was born in December 2001 in Peshawar, into a Pashtun family, which makes her 24, turning 25 in December 2026. Her father is a brigadier in the Pakistan Army, according to ARY Digital's profile of her. Beyond that she keeps her family out of the public eye, so we don't name them here, and you should be wary of sites that list names and photos for her parents and siblings.
She was still studying when she became famous, and she finished her degree while already working as an actress, graduating in 2024. Her graduation day became a small news story of its own when her Meem Se Mohabbat co-star's family turned up to celebrate with her, which fed the rumours covered further down.
Pawri Ho Rahi Hai: the video that made her famous
In February 2021 Dananeer posted a short clip from a trip to Nathia Gali: "Yeh hamari car hai, yeh hum hain, aur yeh hamari pawri ho rahi hai" (this is our car, this is us, and this is our party). "Pawri" was a deliberate mispronunciation of "party", poking fun at the accent of Pakistan's so-called burger class.
It spread within days. The Indian music producer Yashraj Mukhate turned the audio into a song, which carried it across the border, and brands, celebrities and even politicians in both countries were soon using the line. She went from about 100,000 Instagram followers to more than a million, picked up the nickname "Pawri girl", was signed as a brand ambassador for the PSL team Peshawar Zalmi, and, by her own account, started receiving acting offers.

Her dramas, ranked
- Hurmat (2026, Hum TV). Her most demanding role yet, as a young woman whose father has kept her practically locked indoors, and the first drama built entirely around her. She plays Hurmat's fear and her first small rebellions with real restraint, and viewers have responded: some have written that their own fathers ran their homes the same way. Read our Hurmat episode guide for where the story stands.
- Meem Se Mohabbat (2024–25, Hum TV). A Farhat Ishtiaq romance opposite Ahad Raza Mir, and her biggest hit so far: by HUM TV's count, its OST alone has passed 76 million views. As the chatty, carefree Roshi she found the lighter register that suits her best, and her chemistry with Ahad became the talk of the season.
- Muhabbat Gumshuda Meri (2023, Hum TV). Her first lead, opposite Khushhal Khan, and the drama that showed she could carry a romance. It earned her Hum Award nominations for Best Actress and, with Khushhal, Best Onscreen Couple, and its director Shahid Shafaat won Best Director.
- Sinf-e-Aahan (2021–22, ARY Digital). A supporting part in a big ensemble about women training as army cadets, and the debut that won her the Lux Style Award for Best Emerging Talent. The drama belongs to its larger cast, but it was the right first step.
- Very Filmy (2024, Hum TV). A light Ramadan comedy with Ameer Gilani, Bushra Ansari and Mira Sethi. Pleasant enough, and the least essential entry here.
Dananeer Mobeen's film: Mera Lyari
| Year | Film | Role |
|---|---|---|
| 2026 | Mera Lyari | Afsana Baloch |
Her film debut came in May 2026 with Mera Lyari, Abu Aleeha's sports drama about girls from Karachi's Lyari neighbourhood who want to play football. She plays Afsana, the gifted player whose family wants her off the pitch, opposite Ayesha Omar as the coach who spots her. It premiered at the UK Asian Film Festival in London on 2 May and opened in Pakistan on 8 May.

“A smashing breakthrough.”
The film itself got mixed reviews, with critics calling the story thin and the ending abrupt, but she came out of it well. Dawn's reviewer called her the film's glue, noting only occasional slips in her accent, and Pakistani Cinema called her the best thing in it. She also pushed back on the idea, promoted by some officials, that the film was simply Pakistan's answer to the Indian film Dhurandhar, saying that reducing it to that did it a disservice. Is Dananeer Mobeen married? The Ahad Raza Mir rumours
No. Dananeer Mobeen is not married, and she has denied being in a relationship with her Meem Se Mohabbat co-star Ahad Raza Mir.
The rumours took off during the drama's run. Ahad's mother sent her home-cooked food on set, Ahad and his father, the actor Asif Raza Mir, gave her a necklace on her graduation day, and behind-the-scenes clips did the rest. In an interview in April 2025 she addressed it directly, saying it was "not right to connect my personal life with my co-stars" and that on-screen chemistry "does not mean I have the same relationships in life". They were reportedly seen together at a family wedding in the US a few months later, which restarted the talk, but neither has said anything to change her answer.
What's next for Dananeer Mobeen
For now, Hurmat. It airs every Monday and Tuesday on Hum TV and is still in its first half, so she'll be on screen twice a week for months. She hasn't announced her next drama or film. We'll add it here when she does.
